About Hearing Eye

Hearing Eye is a small independent press established in 1987. One of our distinctive features is that we have kept all our books in print, a policy now abandoned by most publishing houses. We also work very closely with the individual authors in both the production and the presentation of their work.

Since 1987, we have published over 150 books and pamphlets since 1987, most of them by contemporary poets and many of them by previously unpublished new voices.

In recent years, the Hearing Eye pamphlets Songs from the Flats by Anna Robinson and The Beating of Wings by Linda Black have been selected as Poetry Book Society pamphlet recommendations.

Sarah Lawson’s translation of the Selected Poems by Jacques Prevert was a Poetry Book Society recommended translation.
